The inevitable has at last happened. A Judge though as a human being and a citizen of India is entitled to fair procedure and other nuances of rule of law but the exalted position he occupies sets him apart from rest of the citizens. He ought not join issue with the system. He is respected because of utmost trust the people repose in his honesty. If a slightest doubt arises, the best thing for him is to step back without raising any controversy or dispute. He should leave the things as they are. Unfortunately, the Judge chose to fight a legal battel, a misconceived idea.
The legal team which took up his case is a battery of seasoned lawyers. They know when and where to stop.
As far as my knowledge of law is concerned, it is almost impossible in law to conclusively prove that the cash belonged to the Judge. Things are vague and they will remain vague. It is better to leave the things as they are, rather than to fight against them.
