The way the judicial system works in India, liberal grant of bail suits more the judicial system than the society as a whole. Once bail is granted, there is no pressure to conclude trial expeditiously. Bail allows the judicial system to take as much time as it wants. The heinous crime which shocks the society’s conscience, calls for outcome of trial at the earliest. Le us not boast of bail-jail principle. We not an efficient criminal administration system.
