If the evidence has been found that the victim girl has been brutalised and there is evidence also that the arrested persons have done it, trial should conclude within one month. Delay is a reflection on the society as well as judicial system. This is where the system will fail, as it has happened several times earlier also. Once the persons have been found guilty, sending them to jail for five years or seven years would serve no purpose. They should be taken to Eden Gardens in Kolkata and handed over to the women folk to treat them the way they consider appropriate. It may be left to them to blacken their faces and give shoe-beating for half an hour. Let the public see it. Unfortunately, in the name of human rights, sentencing system has become so spineless that nobody is now takes it seriously.
