The above the two incidents reported on the same day (June 24, 2026). They are horrible. One’s conscience is shaken. A sense of insecurity creeps in. But what to do. Everyone is feeling helpless before this donkey like judicial system. Such incidents are remembered fopr some time, and after some, the memory is overshadowed by other problems of life, and then people forget or their memory become too distant. However, one question is repeatedly coming to my mind. Our constitutional courts entertain PILs with the drop of hat. Some of them are suo moto.
I am sharing full length of the clipping relating to these two incidents to show how horrible the things are, yet the public does not seem to be alarmed to shake the Government and judicial institutions.

Are these not the cases where the Supreme Court or the High Courts concerned ought to step in, constitute a special court which is mandated to conclude trial within six months? The accused is provided an experienced criminal lawyer at Government expenses with an equally clear mandate that defence lawyer must render all possible assistance for completing trial in six months though he may demand any facility he needs to effectively defend his client. If it takes months and months, and years and years, and then conviction or acquittal makes any difference. The point is whether we make the law effective or make mockery of it by judicial delays.
