
His morbid tendencies were more or less known but no one thought of the dangerous consequences. The evidence so far collected also sufficiently points out his involvement in the crime. The question now is how quickly the law responds and how it responds. It is doubtful that imprisoning him would serve the purpose. His sentencing needs to be tailored according to his psychiatric and psychological evaluation. Unfortunately, our system admits no other sentencing except death, imprisonment, fine and now community services. Secondly, sentencing power is conferred on court. It should be in the hands of civil society.
